50 Years of New Departures

Poetry Olympics torchbearer and New Departures Editor, Michael Horovitz, presents an evening of poetry, song and popular music to celebrate 50 years of New Departures and 30 of Poetry Olympics festivals. The event features Annie Whitehead’s Whitstable World Music Workshop band, Michael Horovitz’s William Blake Klezmatrix Band with Pete Lemer on piano, the multi-voicings of Gwyneth Herbert and the performance poetry maestri John Agard, Patience Agbabi and Elvis McGonagall.
Also launching on the night are two New Departures anthologies - Great-Grandchildren of Albion Voices & Visions of the Latest Generation of Alternative Poets in Britain, and The POE! (Poetry Olympics Enlightenment) Anthology.
